𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁: Contractual Scientist (Computational Metallurgist) – 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝘁. 𝗡𝗼. 𝟱𝟳/𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 (𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲).
𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲: Temporary / contract for 1 year, extendable based on performance and project requirements.
​𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀: CALPHAD-based thermodynamic modelling, phase diagram simulations, alloy & process design for aluminium and related systems.

𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆?
𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: ME / M.Tech in Mechanical / Metallurgical / Materials / related Engineering branches.
​ 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲:
• Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in CALPHAD thermodynamic & phase diagram simulations for compounds, metals and alloys, or substantial experience during ME/M.Tech/PhD work.
• ​Desirable: Thesis/projects in physical metallurgy + modelling, and familiarity with tools such as Thermo-Calc, FactSage, Pandat, JMatPro or similar.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗼𝗻
Thermodynamic modelling, phase stability studies and process simulations for aluminium alloys and related materials.
Alloy design, microstructure and phase evolution analysis, and waste/utilisation & process modelling for industrially relevant systems.
​ Contribution to high-impact R&D and consultancy projects with industry and government stakeholders in the aluminium ecosystem.

Advertisement for the post of Junior Research Fellow in DBT-funded project

Applications are invited from interested and motivated candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow under a project entitled “Development of a recombinant monoclonal antibody-based assay with directional antibody immobilization for improved detection of carbapenem resistance in Acinetobacter baumannii” under BioE3- Precision Biotherapeutics- monoclonal antibodies funded by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, GoI. The position is purely temporary and contractual in nature. Details are provided below.

• Position — Junior Research Fellow
• Number of positions – One (01)
• Title of project – Development of a recombinant monoclonal antibody-based assay

• Job Description – The selected candidate will work on recombinant protein
  expression and purification, phage display, expression, and purification of antibody binders, performing immunoassays, and development of a detection
• Essential Qualification (As per DST norms)–
  1) Post Graduate Degree in Biotechnology or related fields OR Graduate / Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course related to biotechnology.
  2) The candidate should be selected through a process described through any one of the following:
  a. Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE.
  b. The selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MOE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER etc.

Job Description:

Applications are invited for the post of Project Research Scientist II (Non-Medical) for the sponsored project funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) under the Centre for Advanced Research Scheme to the VIT School of Bio-Science and Technology (SBST), Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore, T.N, India.

Title of the Project: “Generation of Bacteriophages for Combating Bacterial Infections of the Skin and Musculoskeletal System.”

Number of posts: 01

Qualification: Ist Class PG Degrees / Integrated PG with three years of experience or Ph.D. (Life Science/Biological Sciences/Engineering or Technology)
IInd Class PG Degree, Including the Integrated PG degrees, with PhD and three years of experience.

Desirable (if any): The candidate should be involved in the sampling, susceptibility testing and designing the experiments to determine the killing effect of bacteriophages. Microbiology work background needed. He/she is also expected to work with whole genome sequences using bioinformatics-based data analysis. Bacteriophage work experience is not mandatory.

The position will be under the general supervision of the Project Director.

Stipend: Rs. 67,000/- per month + 10 % HRA per month (73,700).

Sponsoring Agency: Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) under the Centre for Advanced Research Scheme.
