Project Title – “Deterministic Creation and Characterization of Negatively Charged Single Boron Vacancies in Hexagonal Boron Nitride for Quantum Technologies”
About the Project
The project aims to develop advanced methods to create and study quantum defects in hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) using state-of-the-art nanofabrication techniques. The research will focus on understanding defect quantum emitters through extensive spectroscopic and microscopic characterization.

The selected candidate will work with an international research team comprising faculty members, postdoctoral researchers, and PhD scholars.

Fellowship
As per DST norms:
- ₹37,000 per month + HRA (for first 2 years as JRF)
- ₹42,000 per month + HRA (for third year as SRF)

- 3rd Year: SRF

Role Description
Candidates interested in solving the emerging problems in cancer using advanced technologies, including spectral flow cytometry, single cell sequencing, and humanized mouse models, are encouraged to apply.
This is an on-site, contract-based role located at IIT Jodhpur for a Research Scientist II (Non-Medical). The Research Scientist will conduct advanced research projects, design experiments, analyze datasets, prepare reports and publications, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives. Responsibilities include managing research deliverables, mentoring junior researchers, and contributing to proposals for new research initiatives.
Qualifications
First-class Post Graduate degree (including integrated PG degrees) in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/ life sciences/subjects with at least three years of experience, or a PhD in a Biomedical field.
SKILLS –
- Proficient in spectral flow cytometry, RNA-Seq, mouse cancer models, scientific research methods, and experimental design
- Technical skills in software/tools for RNA-Seq
- data processing and visualization
- Strong problem-solving abilities and critical-thinking skills
- Effective written and verbal communication for reports, publications, and presentations
